A practical English guide to Ginoza in Okinawa: the east-coast beaches, the village centre and access from Naha and Nago.
Operational details such as opening hours, admission fees, and train times can change. Prefer official pages and reconfirm before you travel (sources checked on 08 November 2026).
Why visit
- Ginoza is a small village on the east coast of Okinawa’s main island, between Ishikawa and the northern resorts. It faces the Pacific rather than the East China Sea, with quieter beaches, low hills and a compact village centre of civic buildings and shops.
- The pace is slower than Onna or Nago. Visitors come for swimming, diving and the sense of an ordinary coastal village, with sugarcane fields inland and clear water offshore.
- Ginoza is on route 329 and the Okinawa expressway corridor, which makes it a practical stop between Naha and the north, especially if you want east-coast water without resort crowds.
