A practical English guide to Izumiotsu in Osaka: the coast, the station town and access from Osaka and Kansai Airport.

Operational details such as opening hours, admission fees, and train times can change. Prefer official pages and reconfirm before you travel (sources checked on 08 November 2026).

Why visit

  • Izumiotsu is a small city on the coast of Osaka Bay, between Sakai and Kishiwada, on the Nankai line that runs south from Namba towards Kansai Airport. It is a station town of shops, schools and harbour industry, with the sea always close.
  • The city is not a tourist destination, but it has a working coast, a compact centre and easy access from Osaka. It is a good place to see the ordinary suburban and harbour life of the bay, away from the shopping districts of the city centre.
  • Izumiotsu is useful as a quiet base near the airport and the southern suburbs, or as a short stop on the way along the Nankai line.
