Why visit

  • Tsurugi is a town in the mountains of western Tokushima, on the Yoshino river, inland from Tokushima city. It is a river town, with a bridge, a station and a landscape of forest and small fields, and it is one of the quieter parts of Shikoku.
  • The town is a stop on the Dosan line, which runs through the mountains between Tokushima and Kochi, and the river and the bridges are the centre of the place. The surrounding country has hiking, hot springs and the old roads through the valleys.
  • Tsurugi is around an hour from Tokushima city, which makes it a day trip, and it is a good place to see the mountain interior of the island.
